Our Story
For over two decades, the Morales family has poured their hearts into crafting Florida's most extraordinary aquatic spaces. This is our story.
How It All Began
In the summer of 2003, Roberto Morales arrived in Miami with little more than a set of mason's tools, a lifetime of craftsmanship learned in Havana, and an unshakeable belief that every Florida family deserved a backyard paradise. Together with his wife Elena — a gifted designer with an eye for elegance — they founded YoYo Pools from the garage of their modest Coral Gables home.
The name "YoYo" was born from a family joke: Roberto's sons, Carlos and Miguel, were always bouncing between the pool and the house on hot summer afternoons, "like little yo-yos," Elena would laugh. The name stuck, and with it came a philosophy — that a great pool should be irresistible, drawing you back again and again to its shimmering waters.
Roberto's first commission was a modest backyard pool for a neighbor in Coconut Grove. He worked evenings and weekends, laying every tile by hand, mixing the plaster himself, and finishing the coping with the same meticulous care he had learned from his father in Cuba. When the pool was unveiled, the neighbor wept with joy. Word spread quickly through the neighborhood, and within a year, YoYo Pools had a waiting list.

The Next Chapter
As YoYo Pools grew through the 2000s, so did the Morales family's ambitions. Carlos, the eldest son, studied civil engineering at the University of Miami, returning to the family business with expertise in structural design and hydraulics. Miguel, the younger, pursued landscape architecture at Florida International University, bringing a holistic vision of how pools integrate with their surrounding environment.
Together, the four Morales family members formed an unstoppable team. Roberto provided the master craftsmanship and old-world attention to detail. Elena shaped the aesthetic vision and client relationships. Carlos engineered solutions that were both structurally sound and technically innovative. Miguel ensured that every pool existed in harmony with its landscape, creating complete outdoor living experiences rather than mere swimming structures.
By 2015, YoYo Pools had expanded statewide, with regional teams in Miami, Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville. Yet despite their growth, the Morales family insisted on personally overseeing every project. "A pool is not just concrete and water," Roberto often says. "It is where your children will learn to swim, where your family will gather on summer evenings, where memories will be made for generations. We treat every pool as if it were our own."
Today, YoYo Pools stands as Florida's most trusted name in aquatic construction and maintenance — a company that has never forgotten its humble beginnings, and never will. The Morales family continues to lead every project with the same passion, precision, and personal touch that Roberto brought to that first pool in Coconut Grove over twenty years ago.
